Dr. Eitan Glick, PhD.
Vice President of Development and Operations
|
Dr. Eitan Glick, Ph.D. is Vice President of Development and Operations. He has been the main driving force behind the development, production, scaled-up manufacturing and success of Remebee since 2007. Glick brings vast experience in molecular processes to the Beeologics team. In his role, he is responsible for turning the innovations created within the group into working, predictable processes; for leading the development of new RNAi projects that will follow the well-established Remebee footprint; and for day-to-day operations of the Israeli entity.
Glick has two decades of scientific experience in academia and biotech. Following his post doctorate research at the University of Washington in Seattle, Glick was recruited as an Acting Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology, University of Washington. There, he led a research team that used mutagenesis and protein engineering techniques for the study of cancer and aging mechanisms.
Upon returning to Israel in 2005, Glick employed his broad knowledge in molecular cellular biochemical biology to applicable biology in the biotech industry. Prior to joining Beeologics, he served as a Manager of Research at NutriCognia Ltd. where he led several key projects including the development of a microarray-based diagnostic kit for probiotic food.
Dr. Glick graduated with a BSc cum laude from the Hebrew University and MSc cum laude from the Tel Aviv University in 1992. Nitzan Paldi
Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder
|
Nitzan Paldi brings expertise in research and development and product regulation to the Beeologics leadership team. As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for transforming the company’s intellectual capital into products that help achieve its vision of delivering safe, sustainable RNAi-based products that help restore bee health and protect the future of insect pollination.
After earning his Masters Degree in Agriculture from the Hebrew University, Paldi joined Gesher Advanced Biotechs Ltd., a firm that incorporated technology for the design and construction of combinatorial DNA libraries. It was here that he refined his research skills before taking the entrepreneurial route which led to the founding of biotechnology enterprises including ScentGene Pollination Ltd., a company based on a patent for enhancing cross-pollination; Phosphogenesis Inc., a company that developed technology for spatially addressable Enzyme Substrates; and PlantScent, a company focused on joint development of biotechnology-based, environmentally-friendly alternatives to agricultural practices.
Upon joining Bio-Oz Biotechnologies Ltd., Paldi assumed the role of Head of Research and Development. He was instrumental in coordinating research projects for Magnet Tevel, a consortium of generic technologies for Israeli Ag-Biotech and PotyProtect, a European Community Fifth Framework Program (EC5) designed to recognize novel plant-immunity-inducing mild viruses. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Head of Regulation and Intellectual Property where he laid the foundation for the regulatory approval of Bio-Oz’s flagship product in Europe and the United States. This product is one of the few biological solutions to receive such approval by the strict Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD), the British equivalent of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In 2006, Paldi proceeded to become Bio-Oz’s Chief Operating Officer.
