Nitzan Paldi, M.Sc.AGri
Chief Technology Officer
|
Nitzan Paldi brings expertise in research and development and product regulation
to the Beeologics leadership team. As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible
for transforming the company's intellectual capital into products that will
help achieve its mission of restoring bee health and protecting the future
of insect pollination.
After earning his Masters Degree in Agriculture from Hebrew University,
Mr. Paldi went to work for Gesher Advanced Biotechs Ltd., a firm that
incorporated technology for design and construction of combinatorial
DNA libraries. There, he refined his research skills before taking the
entrepreneurial route which led to founding biotechnology enterprises
including ScentGene Pollination Ltd., a company based on a patent for
enhancing cross-pollination; Phosphogenesis Inc., a company that developed
technology for spatially addressable Enzyme Substrates; and PlantScent,
a company focused on joint development of biotechnology-based, environmentally-friendly
alternatives to agricultural practices.
Then, Mr. Paldi joined Bio-Oz Biotechnologies Ltd. as Head of Research
and Development where he coordinated research projects for Magnet Tevel,
a consortium of generic technologies for Israeli Ag-Biotech and PotyProtect,
a European Community Fifth Framework Program (EC5) designed to recognize
novel plant-immunity-inducing mild viruses. Shortly thereafter, he was
promoted to Head of Regulation and Intellectual Property. It was then
that he laid the foundation for the regulatory approval of Bio-Oz's
flagship product in Europe and the United States. This product is one
of the few biological solutions to receive such approval by the very
strict Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD), the British equivalent of
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In 2006, Mr. Paldi went on
to become Bio-Oz's Chief Operating Officer.
